Independence Day OPMODasaki with Crash Bars and R-25

Steven K. Ledin,

Got the Crash bars installed on the OPMODasaki for the July 4th weekend celebration. The Crash bars are made out of a circa 1950's galvanized Dean's milk crate for our miniature pinscher Crash Almighty. It's padded on the bottom with sexy hot pink tiger stripe and hinged for easy dog insertion. I strategically removed some bars from the crate just large enough for Crash's head to stick through the top and all four sides. Pictures to follow with her in it wearing her pink harness and Doggles.

The Fox River Canoe Trip Thunderstorm Expedition

Steven K. Ledin,

Call me Ishmael.

The Fox River through Illinois isn't what you might call a grade 5 waterway. Maybe a 4. Nope, not even a 3 or a 2. In fact, it struggles to be an adult 1.

But in a thunderstorm in an aluminum canoe it's a bit more challenging. My Shirley and I received a gift certificate for Starved Rock state park last year from her boss and were finally able to break away from work to use it. Family watched the dogs. Rain was forecasted for every day before, during, and after our date at Starved Rock Lodge. …

This was a perfect opportunity for an impromptu, semi-scientific test of high end spotters. Our man Trevor came up with a criteria sheet and took the products out of stock. We started in the warehouse with a standard 1951 USAF resolution test target under a combination …

Airguns Increase Skill Levels On The Cheap!

Steven K. Ledin,

I love shooting airguns, particularly great quality spring piston rifles. Like the title states, shooting these guns will increase your skill level. That's because they are notoriously hard to shoot well. They are temperamental about every aspect of your shooting form. They know if you're shooting them with a tight trigger hand, or light. Or an artillery hold with your support hand, or on a rest. Or where on the forearm it is rested. Or how hard into your shoulder you're holding it. And how your follow through is. Airguns know …
