Yet Another SHOT in Vegas

Steven K. Ledin,

Vegas

Time again for the annual SHOT (Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor Trade) show in Vegas, the largest gun show in the world. It's been in Vegas for the last several years, and it's scheduled to be there for the next few. It's a user-friendly venue at the Sands, and lots of people enjoy Vegas and bring a spouse or partner for after-show festivities, shows, and dining. I'm booked from Sunday night until Friday. The show starts Tuesday, but because I have a blog and am active on social media, I'll be there Monday for what used to be called Media Day. Now it's called Industry Day, because in the afternoon, not just writers are invited, but buyers, also. We all get to shoot the newest guns of every kind imaginable, and play with every new accessory. Over half a million rounds will be sent down range from pistols and machine guns to suppressed long range riles wearing the latest optics, all in the dusty desert Nevada range about an hour away from downtown. Bring a coat, boots, ear and eye protection, and lots of water.

I'll be taking notes and pictures all week. Talk to you when I get back!

About Steven K. Ledin

Steve has never not known guns. Before motorcycles, money, or girls, they have always been part of his life. He was tenured as General Manager of one of the country’s largest gun stores and ranges, a buyer in a big box sporting goods store, and is currently OpticsPlanet’s Director of Product Intelligence. He was a US Navy gunners mate, and is an NRA certified instructor in ten categories, as well as an Illinois CCW instructor. He shoots competitively and has hunted from Alaska to Africa. He thoroughly loves life with his beloved wife, Shirley, and their three wildish dogs Tinker, TranRek (pronounced “Train Wreck”), and Crash Almighty. He is a stubborn stage 4 cancer survivor not yet ready to cash in his chips.
