A customer asked for advice in the forum the other day, and I thought it might help a few folks with the same quandry:

“Hi,

I am seeking advice as to what type of scope to mount on my .22 Browning Buckmark Contour. I will primarily be using it for both indoor and outdoor target shooting. The Buckmark has a 5” barrel and overall is 9.5” long. My budget is approx $200. I’ve read and have been advised that a 2X optical scope is good for my application. Bushnell Elite 3200 5-15×40 Tactical Riflescope on Beeman R-1 Air Rifle

I installed some excellent new glass on my .20 caliber Beeman R-1 Anniversary model air rifle this weekend. The Bushnell Elite 3200 5-15×40 Tactical riflescope is airgun rated for the heavy dual recoil of magnum spring-piston airguns. This #325154T Japanese airgun scope stretches to over 14.5 inches, which is about the maximum length you can put on a barrel-breaking air rifle, and the objective lens housing is only about a half inch away from the barrel when pivoting it to load, which still permits easy access. Chicago weather the third week in January was below zero as I left for Orlando en route to the 2009 Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoor Trade show. The annual SHOT show is the single largest shooting industry event in the country. Over 23,000 vendors this year, and it felt like it.
